Eliza's Random Sleeping Spots

May 18, 2013 in the kitchen
I know. It's been a while. And truthfully I was giving up all hope that we would ever have another crash, but I also knew that if today didn't take her down, then nothing would. We started the day with ballet lessons and a pre-recital photo session. Then we went with friends to Eliza's school's carnival, which we walked/scootered to and back and only ate completely processed sugar and carbs for lunch (no protein, mother of the year here admits). Follow that with an afternoon play date and you've got a recipe for a good ol' fashioned random crash.
As this may very possible be my last post, I think it's only fitting that her possible last random crash (well, at least until college I'm guessing), is with her face painted like a sweaty kitten.
Sweet dreams.

December 16, 2012 in the car
It's not that the car is such an unusual spot for her to crash, but this time it was more about the fact that she fell asleep in the middle of writing her life story.

November 17, 2012 on the living room floor
Today was cold and rainy and the last soccer game of the season was cancelled. The team's soccer party went as planned though and the girls got their very first trophy. Eliza came home from the party, crashed on the floor, woke up a few minutes later to cuddle with her trophy and went right back to sleep in the same spot.
I guess rainy days and soccer parties always get her to go down.
And I guess I just dated myself by about 35 years with that last sentence.

November 2, 2012 on our bedroom floor....
.....on the iPad.
Eliza woke up last night at 1:30am, 3:30am and then was up for the day at 6:15am. This crash was pretty much expected.

October 6, 2012 at Target
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Crash update (one hour later):
Came home from Target, Eliza came into the house and crashed on the living room floor. Clearly birthdays are exhausting (and today wasn't even her party).

September 16, 2012 under the kitchen table
Tonight is the first night of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, and apparently one hour of family services at temple was just too much for my little party girl. After an hour of the services, which was complete with lively music, a fun story by the rabbi and four trips to the bathroom, we came home to dip some apples in honey (a Jewish tradition symbolizing the hope for a sweet new year), and then the real fun began. Eliza started melting down because she had completed the scratch art project I found for the girls today in the $1 section at Target and insisted that I either give her a new one or give her the one I gave to Ava (big sister) to finish. The constant chorus from me of "I don't have any more and Ava is finishing her own" didn't have any bearing on the situation, so instead I chose to ignore her and finish reading the Vanity Fair article on Tom Cruise and "wife auditioning" (which I highly recommend reading) at the kitchen table. I knew once she crawled under the table to try and get my attention - and I not being able to be bothered because I really needed to know more about Nicole Kidman being labeled as a Suppressive Person by Scientologists - we would most likely have a crash. Three minutes later and voila.
To those who observe, wishing you a very happy, healthy and restful new year.
